It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Classes started today, so I've been busy making syllabi and such over the last few weeks. I'm still managing to keep up with my goal of reading 81 books this year, and am currently 3 books ahead of schedule.

The main book I'm reading right now is a Star Trek novel, The Rings of Time, by Greg Cox. When I was in high school I read tons of Star Trek novels, and I'm currently writing an essay about it. So this is research! It's fun to revisit the world of Start Trek. I've also been watching the original series on Netflix.

Here are some other books I'm working on:
  • The Art of Memoir, by Mary Karr (technique for the type of essay writing I'm attempting)
  • A Pound of Paper, by John Baxter (a reading memoir, the type of which has inspired me to attempt my own writing about reading)
  • 300 Sandwiches, by Stephanie Smith (foodie memoir)
  • Oneida: From Free Love Utopia to the Well-Set Table, by Ellen Wayland-Smith

  1. The Art of Memoir and A Pound of Paper both sound good. Happy Reading and Writing!
