It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Over the past couple of weeks I've been reading a novel called The Interestings. Usually I read novels quickly, but I'm taking this one slowly because I don't want it to be over. Honestly, it's one of the best novels I've read in a long time, and I love the characters so much that I want to stay with them as long as possible!

I'm also planning to start reading a memoir this week titled When We Were on Fire. The memoir will be out later this year from a new imprint of Penguin Random House called Converge. (I've got an advance reader copy.) The memoir is about growing up in a conservative Christian subculture and a subsequent crisis of faith. And then, I'm working my way slowly through a book called The Literature Workshop: Teaching Texts and Their Readers, which is a great resource for anyone who teaches high school or college level literature.
