It's Monday. What Are You Reading?

As I tend to do in the summer, I've got a lot of books going at once:
  1. Marianne Moore: Complete Poems
  2. Cloud of Ink, L.S. Klatt (poetry)
  3. The Art of Spiritual Writing: How to Craft Prose That Engages and Inspires Your Readers, Vinita Hampton Wright
  4. Paper Dreams: Writers and Editors on the American Literary Magazine, edited by Travis Kurowski
  5. Holding On Upside Down: The Life and Work of Marianne Moore, Linda Leavell
  6. Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Joan Didion (essays)
  7. The Visionist, Rachel Urquhart (novel)
  8. Table Manners, Mia King (novel)
I'm reading The Art of Spiritual Writing for a religious writing class proposal, but the others are all for fun! (Though I'll probably use parts of Paper Dreams in a Editing & Publishing class I teach.) I tend to read just a bit at a time of the heavier academic works, because although I enjoy reading them, I don't get lost in them like I do with novels. The two novels at the end of the list I'm sure I'll finish quickly, as both are pretty light reading to balance out the other heavier reading.
